History of John Tweed

Porto - 2014

John Tweed was founded in 2014 in Porto, the heart of the Portuguese textile industry in the north of the country. In the summer of the same year we opened our first store in the centre of the city.

 

Lisbon - 2016

After the success of our first store in Porto we moved south and opened our second store in 2016 in the heart of Lisbon, the Chiado district. This has become our flagship store and today has thousands of visitors from all over the world.

 

Spain - 2019

Due to the growing demand from customers all across Europe, we began the process of taking the brand international. The first step on this plan was in 2019, moving into neighbouring Spain where we now have a successful online store.

 

Ireland & UK - 2019

After seeing the demand in our Portuguese stores from Irish and UK tourists, this was the obvious next step in our expansion. With a new store opening in Dublin in 2019, we saw the launch of a dedicated online store and our first physical presence outside of Portugal.
